
Tobacco-related cancers, regardless of gender, account for 33.3 percent of all cancers recorded in India’s hospital-based cancer registry. Men account for 48.7% of all malignancies, while women account for 16.5 percent. The Bangalore-based National Center for Disease Informatics and Research (NCDIR), a part of the Indian Council of Medical Research, performed a study called ‘Clinicopathological Profile of Cancer in India: Hospital-Based Cancer Registry, 2021.’ (ICMR).
